JDPoint Interface
JDPoint is a John Deere portal via which dealers place their orders for John Deere parts. The JDPoint Interface allows to send purchase orders created in John Deere DBS 365 straight to JDPoint. These orders must be checked and confirmed in JDPoint to finalize the ordering process.
Note
In previous documentation, JDPoint was referred to as PMLink. The naming was updated to JDPoint to make it more recognizable to users.
DPI and
Parts Locator are also part of the JDPoint universe. Please consult their individual documentation for more information.
In this chapter, you can find the following sections:

User Guide
After successful setup, the following can be done with the JDPoint interface:
'JDPoint' FactBox
The JDPoint FactBox is available in purchase orders, so that parts data available in JDPoint can be directly fetched and displayed in John Deere DBS 365. The JDPoint FactBox consists of a FactBox menu (see below) as well as the JD Dealer No., JDPoint Response, Transferred to JDPoint At, and JDPoint Order Status fields.
Tip
If multiple dealer numbers are available for the active user, the JD Dealer No. value can be changed by clicking on the value and selecting the applicable dealer number. If a different vendor than John Deere is selected, the field is empty.
The FactBox menu of the JDPoint FactBox is equipped with the following buttons:
- Open JDPoint: used to directly open the JDPoint link, which is stored under the JDPoint_URL parameter on the JDPoint interface setup page, in a new tab in the current/standard browser
- Transfer Order to JDPoint: used to transfer purchase orders to JDPoint via the JDPoint web service
- Clear Data: used to clear the JDPoint data in the JDPoint FactBox as well as the related fields in the purchase order. Online data in JDPoint is not affected.
- Current Status: used to get the current JDPoint order status from John Deere and update the purchase order header (Last Order Status) as well as the purchase line (JDPoint Depot, JDPoint Shipment Date, JDPoint Order Status) values.
JDPoint in purchase orders
The JDPoint Order Type and TS Program No. fields are available in the John Deere section of the General FastTab of purchase orders.
Tip
The TS Program No. field is only available, if an Order Type value is selected with JDPoint Order Type = TS on the Order Types page. When changing the Order Type value, all JDPoint content is cleared.
The Lines FastTab of purchase orders shows the optional JDPoint Depot, JDPoint Shipment Date, and JDPoint Order Status columns.
The JDPoint Order Type value range has the following values which users can select from, if applicable:
- Empty: no JDPoint order type
- MD: Machine Down
- SO: Stock Order
- TS: TS Program
- IS: Initial Stock
- MDP: Machine Down Plus
Destination codes
When using JDPoint to plan and ship deliveries, the Destination Code value plays an important role. Dealers can have more than one destination code in their company, so that a one-stop setup must be available. Thus, the Destination Codes page is available in John Deere DBS 365, where multiple destination codes can be set up per dealer number.
Note
It is not possible to create multiple entries with the same Dealer No. and Destination Code values, even if the Description value is different.
Before releasing a purchase order, users can click in the Destination Description field in the JDPoint FactBox to select a destination code based on the Dealer No. value. For each user, a list of applicable destination codes is displayed according to their setup in JDPoint. As soon as the purchase order is released, the Destination Code field cannot be edited anymore. If no destination code is selected, no destination code is sent via the JDPoint Interface, and JDPoint will use the standard warehouse for the dealer number.
Tip
The Ship to information (including customer and destination address) are automatically sent to JDPoint for Drop Shipment purchase orders. In case any field length exceeds the character length supported by JDPoint, the value is automatically truncated in JDPoint.
Quality-of-life features
- The Transfer Order to JDPoint button in the JDPoint FactBox in purchase orders does automatically release the purchase order when clicking on the button without having the purchase order released beforehand.
- If there are any lines with Type = G/L Account, Resource, Fixed Asset, or Charge (Item) upon transferring the purchase order to JDPoint, a message is displayed with exact issue and proceeds. If the JDPoint Order Type value is missing, a corresponding error message is displayed.
- The JD Dealer No. field is only filled, if the manufacturer John Deere is set up as a parts vendor in the John Deere Manufacturer Code field on the John Deere Setup page. Otherwise, the field is left empty.
